Govt in line for CDF aid

BARBADOS WILL BE IN LINE for a substantial chunk of financing from the CARICOM Development Fund (CDF) over the next five years.

Outgoing chief executive officer of the fund, Ambassador Lorne McDonnough, indicated this yesterday during a media briefing at the fund’s headquarters in Sky Mall, Haggatt Hall, St Michael.

He said Suriname, Haiti and Montserrat would also be able to receive funding during the coming five-year cycle.

The CDF offers low-cost loans to small and medium-sized enterprises [SMEs] – ordinary citizens – and financing for specific infrastructure projects. (TY)
