Husbands looking for seven wins

DEFENDING CHAMPION jockey at Assiniboia Downs, Chris Husbands, has four race days remaining in the season to find seven wins to draw level with leader Jamaican Chavion Chow.

During the just concluded penultimate week of action, Husbands rode four wins while countryman Renaldo Cumberbatch won another three. Husbands visited the winner’s enclosure on Wednesday evening’s card with Street Melody, Diamonds Finest and Jumpin Jennie.

Cumberbatch’s consistent run continued that same day as he scored aboard Tapadero. He doubled up on Saturday, doing so astride Mighty Bear and Play Book. Husbands, who is presently in third place, won by going seven and one half furlongs with Magnetic Jazz.
