IT’S STILL SMOOTH and sweet for this country’s primary ice cream producer.

BICO Limited has recorded double digit growth in profit the financial year ending September 30, 2015.

Before tax profit was up 15 per cent at $501 614, general manager Jo-anne Pooler reported yesterday ahead of the company’s February 23 annual general meeting.

Sales jumped 14 per cent in the food service division buoyed by the launch of Brakes products that were aimed at restaurants, hotels and catering businesses, while energy costs were down 13 per cent attributed to BICO’s use of photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Pooler said they would be moving to increase their PV use within the next 18 months.(WILLCOMM)
