ATTORNEY GENERAL ADRIEL BRATHWAITE needs to go.

The St Philip South Member of Parliament came under fire yesterday for insisting that he should not shoulder the blame for the worrying state of crime on the island, instead pointing an accusing finger at mothers and grandmothers for not insisting on high standards from their sons from a very early age.

St Joseph MP and former attorney general Dale Marshall called for Brathwaite’s head; social activist and attorney at law David Comissiong described him as “useless”, while head of the National Organisation of Women said not only mothers were failing in their responsibilities.

Marshall called for Brathwaite’s removal following what he saw as an attempt to shift the blame for the country’s current crime situation from politicians to others. (AD)
