At one with nature

MANY PEOPLE say they would love to leave the hustle and bustle of daily life behind and just live at ease with nature.

Deep inside though, not many actually have the courage to do it. The WEEKEND NATION team visited two Rastafarian communities to speak to some people who have.

If you have a perception that Rastafarians living in what is termed “bush” are wild, unkempt and unintelligent, then you had better check yourself as this is far from the truth.

Firstly, there is a big difference between bush and trees and Jalecia Sealy will be more than happy to educate you.

Sealy, who is in her 20s, grew up in “Mother Nature Gardens”, a spacious area where her mother, who would only identify herself as “Mother”, raised her 11 children and 11 grandchildren. She said she had never regretted her station. (CA)
