MORE THAN 750 000 artefacts, the majority being small pieces from archaeological digs, have been acquired by the Barbados Museum.

There are between 10 000 and 12 000 paintings, sculptures and ceramic pieces.

Historical documents and photographs comprise about 2 000 pieces, while there are about 5 000 fine art pieces.

Director of the Barbados Museum & Historical Society, Alissandra Cummins, gave the updated figures on the sidelines of a major fundraiser at The Garrison, St Michael, on Saturday. (WILLCOMM)
