MANY CIVILIANS joined the Police and Barbados Defence Force in the search for Sidneato Holford, who was reported missing in January.

The search started around 9 a.m. at the Belle pumping station and lasted around two hours, taking place through Belle gully and its perimeter but did not yield positive results.

Police public relations officer, acting Assistant Superintendent David Welch said 25 police officers – 13 of whom were Special Services Unit – 20 soldiers; three police dogs and 75 civilians took part.

Welch said this was the third such search for Holford and was not the largest one in terms of police and Defence Force personnel.

He said he understood some of the civilians who were searching today were also part of previous searches but was unsure of their numbers then.

Welch also thanked the public for the interest shown.
