Prominent business figure Sir Allan Fields does not believe the budgetary measures proposed by Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler last Tuesday will pull Barbados out of the economic trouble in which the country finds itself.
“Barbados is in a worse place than it has ever been before and I don’t think [Tuesday] night’s Budget solves the crisis,” Sir Allan told the SATURDAY SUN during a wide-ranging interview on Wednesday.
Describing the proposals as “very draconian”, Sir Allan questioned the wisdom of reducing the reverse tax credits. Stressing he was speaking as “a layman” and no longer “involved as I was before”, Sir Allan remarked.
