Bajans not ‘green enough’

BARBADIANS STILL are not paying enough attention when it comes to being energy efficient.

That is according to the vice-president of the Barbados Renewable Energy Association (BREA) Jerry Franklin, who has said Barbadians continue to waste energy even though only simple behavioural changes were needed in some instances.

He made the comments to the SATURDAY SUN yesterday during a motorcade stop at Jordan’s Supermarket in Fitts Village, St James.

The motorcade was a collaborative effort between BREA, the Barbados Light and Power (BL&P) and Caribbean LED Lighting, to educate people on the benefits of being energy efficient.

Franklin said energy bills could be reduced by as much as 50 per cent in some instances.
