MANUFACTURERS ARE facing thousands of dollarsĀ in storage fees as the go-slow continues at the Bridgetown Port.
And, says executive director of the Barbados Manufacturersā Association, Bobbi McKay, the effects will be felt in the pockets of consumers as manufacturers will be forced to pass on costs.
She was speaking to the MIDWEEK Nation as officers at the Customs and Excise Department continued their go-slow at the Bridgetown Port yesterday in protest of Governmentās plan to incorporate the revenue-making arm into the Barbados Revenue Authority.
McKay said manufacturers had been having issues clearing their containers from the Port āfor a whileā.
